More Than a Drum Retreat
The Muteki Taiko Drum Retreat combines the power of Japanese taiko drums with the beauty of Estonian nature. Alongside taiko training, an essential part of the retreat is shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing,as well as mindfulness practices, sauna rituals, meditation, and shared rituals.
This is more than just learning to play the drums – it is a place where
rhythm, nature, and presence come together..

The Drum Retreat Through The Years
2023 Adila
The first Muteki Taiko drum camp. Guests from Japan (Yosuke Oda, KODÒ) and a sound journey (Tiina Karjatse).
2024 Pühali
Japan meets India – Taiko, Indian rhythms (Arno Kalbus), and vocal journeys (Triinu Taul).
2025 Pühali
Japanese Heart, Estonian Soul – taiko (Yosuke Oda, Miku Shibata) and shinobue (Kazunari Abe) from Japan.
2026 Haanjamehe
Shinrin taiko – taiko (Miku Shibata), forest bathing, somatics (Natalja Prümmel), and sauna rituals (Monika Tamm).
